We aren't--but Cuba is, less than 100 miles off the coast of Florida. But don't worry about environmental dangers! Rest assured because Rafeal Tenrreyro, head of exploration for Cuba’s state oil company Cupet reports, “Safety is more than guaranteed. Cuban institutions have made sure that is the case.” Read how now may be the time to lift the Cuban embargo: Forbes Magazine

So how many billions has the Gulf Coast lost in oil jobs and all the local businesses that support the drilling process? But our traitorous President wants to become Brazil's best customer buying their offshore-drilled oil. Viva the Brazilian economy!
Tell me, what is traitorous about buying oil from Brazil?? we buy from S Arabia, Russia, etc. Brazil is a lot better than those two. So what exactly do you mean?
Anony, I can't speak for Nobama Please, but I would venture this: Obama needs to lift the restrictions that stranglehold our own offshore drilling. We undoubtedly do a far better job in minimizing environmental risk than Cuba or even Brzil will do. Using our own off-shore resources would be better than supporting the Brazilian, or any other, ecnoomy. ?Comprende?
